長野市善光寺門前のゲストハウス　1166バックパッカーズ

Monken is a regular meeting talking about how we can lead our life better here in Monzen, Nagano city.
This evening, meeting of the tourism subcommittee was held at 1166 backpackers.
About 10people got together and talked with.

もんけんは善光寺門前での我々の生活をより豊かにするために、定期的に開催されている研究会です。
今日の午後、もんけん観光分科会が1166バックパッカーズにて開催されました。
約10名の人が集まり、話合いました。

Main theme was about guide tour around Zenkoji.
The Volunteer group "Bonsho no kai" is conducting tour in English from 10am to 3pm only on weekends. I hope the tour will open on weekdays but it may take long time because the most of the membership has another job on weekdays. Unfortunately I do not have much time to guide at Zenkoji but now I'm thinking to join the group to gain knowledge or skills.

(*If you book in advance, they will arrange the tour on weekdays and guide tour around Togakushi and Obuse is also available)

メインテーマは善光寺界隈のガイドについて。
ボランティア通訳ガイドグループ“梵鐘の会”は土日祝の午前10時から午後3時まで英語のガイドツアーを開催しています。私個人の意見として、平日も開催して欲しいところですが、時間がかかりそうです。ボランティアベースの会でして、多くのガイドは平日には他の仕事をしているのも理由の一つです。残念なことに、私は善光寺のガイドに参加する時間が作るのが難しいですが、会員になって知識を得ることを考えています。

I asked another theme.
Without JR pass, it will cost about 8000JPY from Tokyo to Nagano.
On the other hand, the lowest price is 1600JPY by highway bus.
Of course it takes longer by bus, but most of backpackers have time and wanna save money.
So highway bus is useful for us.

私がたずねたテーマとして、
JRパス（外国人向けのJR乗り放題パス）を使わないと、JRで東京から長野は約8000円ほどかかります。
一方、高速バスの最安値は1600円です。

The problem is, the booking site is only in Japanese.
Three companies are running their buses from Tokyo to Nagano but all of the booking sites are only in Japanese.
For the guests staying 1166 backpackers, I usually help to book via Japanese booking site.
But there are nothing that I can do for the tourists coming to Nagano from Tokyo by bus.
Before this, I called a company to book bus from Nagano to Tokyo for foreign guest.
At that time, the reservation had not accepted.
The reason was he did not speak Japanese and did not have Japanese cell phone number.
Bus driver was not good at English. They were worried about it.

問題点は、予約サイトが日本語でしかないということ。
3社が東京ー長野間でバスを運行していますが、そのすべてが日本語サイトのみです。
1166バックパッカーズに泊まっているゲストに対しては、私はよく日本語サイトでの予約を手伝います。
しかし、東京から長野に来ようとしている人に対しては為す術がありません。

また以前に、宿泊中の外国人ゲストのためにバス会社に予約の電話をいれたことがありました。
しかし予約は受け付けられませんでした。
理由は外国人ゲストが日本語を話せなかったのと、日本の携帯電話の番号を持っていなかったことです。
バスのドライバーは英語が話せなかったので、きっと彼らはそれを心配したのでしょう。
